Thames (NZ): WWI ROH Commemorations July-August 1917-2017

During July to August 1917, nine Thames servicemen died while on active service in World War One.

Given how busy the TCDC staff were yesterday organising the big Goldfields 150 event at the War Memorial Civic Centre, it was special that they had remembered the two men who died 1st August 1917. Namely Private Clarken and Lance Corporal McConnell. Two crosses were placed at the Thames World War One Field of Remembrance in their honour. (photo below)
