Thames (NZ): Then & Now - the 1940s Thames Foreshore

We often ponder how much Thames lost in the way of buildings, that today would be deemed as historic. Since the 1940s there have been many dramatic changes made to the towns, that many today take for granted. Test yourself in the first photo as to changes that will appear in todays photo. There is a labelled version for those wanting some clues!
Below are labelled some of the major changes have happened as of 2015. More information on the planting of the palm trees that line the entrance to Thames can be found in a previous blog.

The principal changes are to the left of the main "25" highway (Queen Street)
From the Moanataiari Subdivision; down to the label Thames which is over the Goldfields Mall; below that is Danby Field; then the Richmond Villas housing area. Lastly the Toyota Car factory is adjacent to the lowest "25".
